Natalie M. McKee earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL and a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from Salus University. Her experiences include clinical settings in the Rockford area, Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, NE and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
Dr. McKee purchased Bloomington-Normal Audiology in 2012, after 7 years of understudy with the original owner, Dr. Deborah Pitcher. BNA was the first private practice audiology clinic in Bloomington-Normal when it began in 1990; building a reputation of providing state-of-the art technology in audiology to Central Illinois. Dr. McKee is honored to continue BNA’s esteemed reputation.
Dr. McKee chose the field of Audiology following the diagnosis of her own hearing loss. She feels that this personal experience allows her to better understand and assist the patients she sees. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and has special expertise in evaluating persons with dizziness/vestibular disorders.
“What I love most about my career is that I can help people improve their quality of life either by offering preventative care via hearing conservation and education or providing individualized treatment recommendations for patients with hearing challenges.”
Active participation in the community is important to Dr. McKee. This began with her experiences as an exchange student to Norway in 1995. Since then, she has remained in contact with her ‘adoptive’ family in Norway. She is a past member of the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees serving as their Administrative VP, President, and Chairman of the Board. She is currently a member of the Easterseals Central Illinois Bloomington-Normal Community Advisory Council and serves on the committee for the Burt Mercier Memorial Claybird fundraiser benefitting Timber Pointe Outdoor Center.
Dr. McKee earned her Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is licensed to practice Audiology by the State of Illinois. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), and Illinois Academy of Audiology (ILAA). She currently serves as the Government Affairs VP for ILAA. ADA awarded Dr. McKee the ADA Leo Doerfler Award for excellent clinical service to her community in 2024.
“I feel like we are starting to see a positive change in our society and culture that rather than be reactionary, people are working towards preventative measures for their hearing and overall wellness. It’s like that old saying – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
Dr. McKee can be seen at our Bloomington office as well as our Pontiac office for hearing related concerns.
